How to Receive Money｜ International Money Transfer Service ｜ Seven Bank

In principle, money sent through the Seven Bank international money transfer service will be received at a location affiliated with Western Union in cash in a foreign currency specified by the customer.*1 In principle, the receiver does not need to have a bank account.*2 To receive money, the receiver needs to present the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) that will be communicated from the sender*3 and to perform the prescribed procedure at a receiving location.

Receive an MTCN and other information from the sender
Go to a receiving location affiliated with in the country where the money is to be receive

Enter the necessary information including the MTCN*3 on the reception application form and submit it at a receiving location affiliated with . Perform the prescribed procedure there.*4
Receive the funds transferred in cash in a currency specified by the customer*5*6

Yen will be translated into the foreign currency specified by the customer at an exchange rate at the time when the receiver receives money, or
The transferred money will be subject to taxation when it is withdrawn.

*1 Money will be able to be received only at receiving locations affiliated with Western Union. Money will not be able to be received at receiving locations in countries other than the country designated by customers. In principle, even if the receiving location is a bank, money cannot be transferred to receivers' bank accounts except in certain countries, including China. Money transfers to be accepted by Seven Bank will be subject to restraints of trade prescribed by Western Union and receiving locations. Payment will be made only within the scope of the conditions. Money to be received by Seven Bank may not be able to be withdrawn in all or part of the receiving locations in a country. For more information on the method of receiving money and receiving locations, please refer to the "Receiving Money" page and the"Maximum Amount of Transfer, Countries, Locations, and Currencies" page, respectively.
*2 In certain countries, separate transactions, such as transfer to receivers' bank accounts, will be required.
*3 When money is transferred to certain countries, primarily to African countries, the receiver will be required to present a test question and the answer to it in addition to the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) for identification when he or she receives money. When accepting money transfer, Seven Bank will issue an MTCN and, if needed for reception, a test question and the answer to it that will be shown on the transaction screen or the receipt. Since the MTCN and the test question and answer will be needed when the receiver receives money, the customer is required to inform the receiver of them and to keep them at hand. Seven Bank will not be liable for any losses caused by a third party, which is not the customer or receiver, using them.
*4 The receiver may be required to present documents for identification prescribed by receiving locations, depending on the country or transaction. The receiver may need to submit other documents.
*5 Seven Bank will not be responsible for the locations, operating hours, currencies handled, and other services and the quality of service at receiving locations. Seven Bank will not be liable for any wrong payment, nonpayment, underpayment, or late payment attributable to Western Union or receiving locations affiliated with it. However, if Seven Bank and Western Union confirm after investigations based on customers' inquiries that an incorrect payment or nonpayment is attributable to Western Union or receiving locations, Seven Bank will take action that it will consider appropriate, such as cancellation of the money transfer and correct payment, taking customers' choices into account.
*6 In certain countries, stamp tax and other taxes are subtracted from the amount transferred when it is withdrawn. There may be additional charges for additional transactions between the receiver and the receiving location. The receiver will be responsible for the additional transactions, and Seven Bank will not pay any charges or assume any responsibility regardless of the reason.
* You can apply for an international money transfer service agreement at a manned store of Seven Bank but cannot transfer money from there.

◇The Seven Bank international money transfer service will be offered by Seven Bank and will not be provided by Western Union on its own. Western Union will support Seven Bank as a business partner in withdrawals at receiving locations. Neither Western Union nor receiving locations will be a party to the transactions.
◇In principle, the services and transactions of Seven Bank will be described in Japanese. For the convenience of customers, other languages are also used. However, the use of other languages will be limited, and if there is any difference between the meanings of Japanese and other languages, the Japanese meaning will take precedence.
