How to Send Money ｜ International Money Transfer Service ｜ Seven Bank

To use the Seven Bank international money transfer service, you need to open a Seven Bank account and apply for an international money transfer service agreement.
The service will provide only money transfers from Japan to overseas and will not provide transfers from overseas to Japan.

You will be requested to register information necessary for individual money transfers, except amounts of money to be sent and other information, in advance when you apply for an international money transfer service agreement. You will then be able to transfer money easily after the completion of the application procedure through the Internet banking*1, mobile banking*1, and Seven Bank ATMs*2 nearby.

To use the Seven Bank international money transfer service, you will need to open a Seven Bank account and to apply for an international money transfer service agreement. Please request an application form online through this website and complete the prescribed procedures.*2
Deposit funds in your Seven Bank account

The funds and send charge will be transferred from your Seven Bank account when you request a money transfer.*3 You need to deposit the necessary amount of money into your Seven Bank account through a Seven Bank ATM or through transfer from another bank.*4

Please request money transfer through Internet/mobile banking*1 or a Seven Bank ATM. Choose a receiver from a list of registered receivers, specify an amount of money to transfer in yen, and enter other information on the transaction screen.*5
Completion of request for money transfer

The receiver needs to have certain information, including the MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number)*6 to receive the funds. Please give the receiver the necessary information, including the MTCN*6 shown on the screen and the receipt after your application for money transfer has been accepted.

*1 You need to register in advance to use Internet banking/mobile banking.
*2 The application procedure cannot be completed online. You will need to complete and return the application form that will be sent to you. You also need to complete the prescribed procedures to open an account, including changing a tentative personal identification number that will be sent to you to a fixed personal identification number. For details, please click here. Seven Bank will screen applicants and may refuse to accept applications after screening. Seven Bank will not answer inquiries about the details of screening.
*3 When you transfer money through a Seven Bank ATM, there will be a charge for using the ATM (withdrawing money) depending on the time of day. The charge will be deducted from your Seven　Bank account (ordinary account) when you apply for money transfer.
*4 You cannot directly transfer cash through a Seven Bank ATM without depositing money into your Seven Bank account (ordinary account).
*5 When requesting a money transfer, the customer should specify, in addition to a receiver, a country, and a currency that will be specified for the receiver when the customer applies to register a receiver.
*6 When money is transferred to certain countries, primarily to African countries, the receiver will be required to present a test question and the answer to it in addition to the MTCN for identification when he or she receives money. When accepting a money transfer, Seven Bank will issue a Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) and, if needed for reception, a test question and the answer to it that will be shown on the transaction screen or the receipt. Since the MTCN and the test question and answer will be needed when the receiver receives money, the customer is requested to convey them to the receiver and to keep them handy. Seven Bank will not be liable for any losses caused by a third party who is not the customer or receiver using the information.
* You can apply for an international money transfer service agreement at a manned store of Seven Bank but cannot transfer money from there.

◇The Seven Bank international money transfer service will be offered by Seven Bank and will not be provided by Western Union on its own. Western Union will support Seven Bank as a business partner in withdrawals at receiving locations. Neither Western Union nor receiving locations will be a party to the transactions.
◇In principle, the services and transactions of Seven Bank will be described in Japanese. For the convenience of customers, other languages are also used. However, the use of other languages will be limited, and if there is any difference between the meanings of Japanese and other languages, the Japanese meaning will take precedence.
