Reminder

Only residents of Japan (as defined by the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Law) are eligible to apply.

If your period of stay (visa) is less than 3 months, please apply after renewing your period of stay or visa.

Buying or selling , or assignment, of bank accounts is a crime. If you do, you will be sentenced to imprisonment or a fine under penal law. Please refrain from doing this.

U.S. Citizens are required to obtain confirmation in accordance with the U.S. Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (hereinafter referred to as “FATCA”). Please note that it will take some time to complete the procedure, as you will be required to submit FATCA documents separately after your application has been accepted.

If you are unable to provide any other identification documents other than your residence card, use the ATM to open an account.
