Important Notice

Change in the handling of health insurance cards used as identity verification documents when applying to open an account or applying for loan services, and temporary unavailability of services during the night on Tuesday, November 11, 2025

Following the Law to Partially Amend the Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in Administrative Procedures (My Number Act) coming into effect, we will change our manner of handling health insurance cards used when applying to open a Seven Bank account or applying for Seven Bank loan services.

1. Use of health insurance cards when applying to open an account by mail

As of Tuesday, November 11, 2025, we will discontinue accepting health insurance cards used as identity verification documents when applying to open an account. As from Wednesday, November 12, 2025, health insurance cards cannot be selected on the webpage for the procedure to open an account by mail.

  • If you have commenced the application procedure to open an account by mail on the relevant webpage by Tuesday, November 11, 2025, while selecting a health insurance card as your identity verification document, and requested the necessary documents for the mail procedure, fill in the documents and return them to us as soon as you receive them, no later than the expiry date of your health insurance card or by Monday, December 1, 2025 (the last day of the period of transitional measures).
  • Even if you submit the documents by the deadline, we may ask you to apply again if there is any problem with the submitted documents.

As from Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the identity verification documents acceptable in the application procedure to open an account by mail will be changed as follows.

  • Only people aged under 15 years are eligible to open an account by mail, and they need to submit the identity verification documents of their parents or legal guardians.

2. Use of health insurance cards when applying for loan services

As of Tuesday, November 11, 2025, we will discontinue accepting health insurance cards used as identity verification documents when applying for loan services. As from Wednesday, November 12, 2025, health insurance cards cannot be selected.

3. System maintenance for the procedures to open an account by mail and apply for loan services

System maintenance is scheduled from 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, to 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
During this period, we will not be able to accept applications to open an account by mail or applications for loan services (via the app or the Direct Banking Service). We ask that you apply after the maintenance is complete.

  • This is a tentative schedule. Maintenance work may take a longer or shorter time.
