By registering your individual number pursuant to the Act on Management of Deposit and Savings Accounts through Use of Individual Numbers Based on Intentions of Depositors, you (or your heir) can make inquiries about your account information at the time of a disaster or upon succession.
Submission of your individual number is optional.You can use your account as usual even if you do not submit your individual number.

Application for individual number assignment

If you have accounts at multiple financial institutions, you can apply for the individual number assignment with all those financial institutions at one time.

At the time of succession

A decedent's heir can make inquiries about the decedent's account information.

At the time of a disaster

Even if you have lost your cash card, you can make inquiries about your account information using your individual number card.

How to register

If you have not yet opened an account

Fill in an application form that is enclosed with a cash card to be sent by mail after opening an account, and submit the form together with a document related to your individual number.*

If you already have an account

Contact us fromChat Service別ウインドウで開きますand request an application form to be sent by mail. If you receive the form, fill in and submit it together with a document related to your individual number.*

* A document related to your individual number

Submit either of the following. (A photocopy is acceptable.)

  • -Copies of both sides of your individual number card
  • -Copy of your resident record in which your individual number is indicated (issued within the last six months)

The Deposit Insurance Corporation of Japan (DICJ) will notify you of the result of the individual number assignment by mail. Please do not contact us by phone about this matter.

Use of individual number

Your individual number may be used to identify your deposit account in procedures prescribed in the Income Tax Act, the Public Assistance Act, the Deposit Insurance Act, and other laws and regulations.
With the use of your individual number, you or your heir can receive information of your deposit account at the time of a disaster or upon succession.
